Hurt. According to Dictionary.com hurt is defined as pain to the body physically; however, another definition is “to feel or suffer bodily or mental pain or distress.” Hurt comes in a lot different forms. It can be physical, mental, and emotional. Of all of these, emotional hurt tends to cause the most pain. This type of hurt often comes up with no warning and leaves you with the question of “now what?” God has a lot to say about hurting throughout the Bible. Psalms 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Whenever you are hurting, you can run to God for comfort. With His strength you can make it through any situation. Psalms 30:5 states, “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Though the hurt may seem strong and unbearable now, God will get you through it and restore joy in your heart. When experiencing hurt, it is hard to see how something good can come from it; however, God does all things for good. We just might not be able to see it yet. We see just a piece of a massive puzzle, where God sees the whole thing and how each piece fits in. Hurt is unpredictable, but necessary. It is through hurt that the most growth happens. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Trust God in every situation and He will guide you. His plans are for your good. All you need is faith.
